Description

This is a very rare pair of green-glazed pigs from the Han dynasty in China. It was used as a burial accessory so that the deceased would not be troubled by hunger in the next world. Miniatures of almost everything used in everyday life including pigpens, wells, and dining utensils exist. Looking at the nice shape and how well it is manufactured suggests that the people were serious about believing in the afterlife.
