Gaho Maehata (1936 – ) is an artist producing Yamanaka-nuri lacquerware. He is a traditional artist who is the eighth head of the Maehata household born as the first son of Shunsai Maehata. In 2003, he was commissioned to work on restoring the Kenchouji Temple, which is listed as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. He is a famous artist who has made works for the Emperor of Japan and Pope John Paul II.
